Parent University

Parent and community support and involvement continues to be an important aspect of the success at James Rutter Middle School. Some parents help plan the programs and policies, while others serve as classroom, library, and office volunteers, attend Parent University Classes, and help monitor student activities out on campus during the day.  Parents also support student success by providing space, time and encouragement for daily homework, and by sending a clear message that education and regular school attendance are important to the family.  Parent Volunteers are coordinated by our Vice Principal, Freda Robinson.

The safety and well being of our students is one of our school's top priorities and the discipline policy is strictly enforced.  The entire staff at James Rutter Middle School has committed to a school-wide literacy and character education programs that supports and embraces all student’s abilities, cultures, and differences.   We believe in teaching our students the value of cooperation and having responsible and respectful behavior on our campus. This is emphasized in our three core values which we call the three R’s of Rutter known as being Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient and in our motto which is “Determined to Succeed”.
